Indian Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Bangkok in collaboration with Thai Textile Society organized a lecture and presentation on "CONFLUENCE OF CULTURES OF INDIA AND SOUTHEAST ASIA THROUGH TEXTILES" by Mrs. Hema Devare at Siam Society Under Royal Patronage on Saturday 9th July 2016.

 

Ms. Hema Devare is a freelance writer and playwright. She has produced the much acclaimed documentary ''Threads That Bind'' which emphasizes the metaphor of historical textile exchanges between India and Indonesia. She is also the editor of Saree Sutra, a catalogue that traces the ancient commonalities between India and Indonesian silk textiles. Ms. Hema Devare has been regularly contributing articles to leading journals, books etc. on Southeast Asian and Indian cultural linkages.
