Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Bangkok was opened to showcase India’s rich heritage and promote multilayered cultural exchanges between the peoples of India and Thailand. The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Bangkok was inaugurated on 22 September 2009 by Hon'ble Dr. Karan Singh, President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi. H.E. Mr. Teera Slukpetch, Minister of Culture of the Royal Thai Government was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The SVCC is the Cultural Wing of the Embassy of India in Thailand, which promotes awareness and appreciation of India’s composite cultural heritage abroad. Located in the heart of city on Rajadapisek road, Lake Rajada Office Condominium. The SVCC places itself at the heart of the cultural life of Bangkok, offering a wide and interesting range of cultural services and performances to its patrons. It is spread over 235 square metres and has a multi-purpose hall and stage. All events at the SVCC are free of charge and open to the general public.

The SVCC facilities are open to all persons interested in learning about India and preserving, promoting and enriching Indian culture, values and heritage. SVCC invites artists, academicians, writers and performers of Indian art forms, many of whom have received formal training in India to use its premises to showcase their talents and reach out to a wide and discerning audience. The Centre places special emphasis on working with local cultural organizations to promote Indian culture.

The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India presents cultural programmes each month such as dance and music recitals, exhibitions of painting and photography, illustrated talks and discussions on a range of cultural topics and regular film screenings.

SVCC has many cultural partners which include Universities, Art Foundations, Societies, Galleries, Art and Culture Centre of Thailand. In particular, SVCC enjoys creating cultural events for and with people of Thailand, by exploring cultural themes of mutual interest. It looks upon its work as complementing and supplementing the efforts already being made by cultural organizations and schools in Thailand to promote Indian art and culture.

The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre is open Tuesday to Saturday

Tuesday: 10.00 am to 6.00 pm

Wednesday: 10.00 am to 7 pm

Thursday: 10.00 am to 7 pm

Friday: 10.00 am to 6.00 pm

Saturday: 9.30 am to 5.30 pm

Apart from office hours, the Centre is open for scheduled events in the evening.
