The International Day of Yoga (IDY) is celebrated all over the world, following the proclamation of 21st June as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations in September 2014.Embassy of India in Bangkok has been organizing IDY every year since 2015.

The 8th International Day of Yoga was celebrated in Bangkok on Sunday, 19 June, 2022 by Embassy of India with support from its partners at the Srinakharinwirot University grounds. Yoga enthusiasts from all walks of life participated in the mass yoga session.

H.E. Mr. ChadchartSittipunt, Governor of Bangkok was the Chief Guest, Associate Professor Dr. SomchaiSantiwatanakul, President of Srinakharinwirot University and other distinguished guests dignitaries graced the occasion by their participation. Ambassadors, member of diplomatic corps, Government officials of Thailand,Indian diaspora membersand various associations and members of academia & media attended the event.  Ambassador H.E. Mrs. SuchitraDurai delivered the welcome remarks. H.E. Mr. ChadchartSittipunt, Governor of Bangkok in his speech mentioned the usefulness of yoga and stressed that yoga events should be organied in future.Mass Yoga Session was coordinated by Mr. Sanjeev Chaturvedi along with yoga volunteers. The turnout of yoga enthusiasts at the Srinakharinwirot Universitygrounds was more than 600.
