The Presidential Award Of Certificate Of Honor To Sanskrit & Pali Recommendations For The Year 2018

Ministry of Human resource development (M/HRD) has invited nominations for Presidential Award of Certificates of Honors to distinguished scholars of Sanskrit and Pali to be presented by Hon’ble President of India.

Under this scheme there are three awards for Scholars of Sanskrit and Pali which are as follows:-

1. A Certificate of Honor along with a one time grant of Rs. 5,00,000/- is awarded to scholars of eminence over 60 years of age with outstanding contribution in the field of each of these languages.

2. An International Award of Certificates of honor to a non-resident Indian of person on non-Indian origin with outstanding contributions in the field of Sanskrit.

3. .Maharshi Badarayan Vyas Samman – An Award carrying a one-time cash grant of Rs. 1.00 lakh.

Nomination are invited for the following

1

Sanskrit

i. Certificate of honor – 15 Awards carrying one-time cash grant of Rs. 5.00 lakh each

ii. Certificate of honor – International Award for non – resident Indian or persons of non-Indian origin carrying a one-time cash grant of Rs. 5.00 lakh

iii. Maharshi Badarayan Vyas Samman – 5 awards carrying a one-time cash grant of Rs. 1.00 lakh each along with a Sanad and a Shawl

Pali 

i. Certificate of Honor – 1 Awards carrying cash grant of Rs. 5.00 lakh

ii. Maharshi Badarayan Vyas Samman – 1 award carrying a one-time cash grant of Rs. 1.00 lakh each along with a Sanad and a Shawl.

Eligibility Criteria:-

For the Certificat of Honor – The scholar should

  • Be over 60 years of age.
  • Be a scholar of eminence in the field of Sanskrit/Pali
  • Have teaching experience.
  • Have Published works – number of books / articles published
  • Provided copies of best five published works along with detailed list of his/ published works
  •  Have conducted Research work and have kept the traditional Sanskrit or Pali studies alive.
  • Provide details of specific achievement for which the award is to be recommended.
  • Provide a character and antecedent certificate from his/her institution/organisation.

 Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman :

The young scholar may be 30-45years of age in the field of Sanskrit or Pali.

The scholar should have made a breakthrough in inter-disciplinary studies involving contribution of Sanskrit or ancient Indian wisdom, to the process of synergy between modernity and tradition and Scientist & I. T professional working for promotion of science in Sanskrit/Pali.

The last date for nomination / recommendation latest by 4th April 2018
