ITEC DAY CELEBRATION - 2021

Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day was celebrated in Embassy of India, Bangkok on15 September 2021at the Embassy premises. Ambassador Suchitra Durai in her opening remarks spoke about the introduction of e-ITECcourses to ensure the safety of both participants and tutors during the Covid 19 pandemic period. Ms Hataichanok Siriwadhanakul, Director of HRD Bureau, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) graced the celebration as the Guest of Honour. Ms Siriwadhanakul spoke about the long-standing cooperation between India and Thailand in the area of capacity building and praised the role of India’sITECProgramme.

Around 25 persons including representatives from TICA, ITECalumni and Mission officials attended the ITECDay celebration. During the event, video message received from ITEC was screened. Messages from alumni including Thai Solar Sisters from Mechai Pattana School who attended the “Training Rural Women on Solar Electrification & Rainwater Harvesting” course at the Social Work and Research Centre (SWRC), Tillonia were also presented. These were followed by the sharing of experiences in India by Thai alumni.

UnderITECprogramme, Thai officials have availed of both regular short term as well as e-ITECtraining courses by reputed training institutions of India. Till date, more than 700 Thai officials have attended regularITECcourses and 150 availed of online training facilities.
