PREMISES

The Embassy of India started functioning in Bangkok at the Phyathai Road in mid-1950s.

In late 1960s, it moved to Sathorn Road (139 Soi Pann) near the Sri Mariamman Temple (Wat Kaek or the Indian Temple) in Silom area (which had a lot of Indian community residing and operating their businesses).

In 1980, the Embassy of India moved to the Sukhumvit area (Soi 23). This modern area also has a large number of Indian community residing and operating their businesses.

The present Embassy premises were inaugurated by H.E. KRIANGSAK CHOMANAN, Prime Minister of Thailand on Saturday, 26 th January 1980.

INDIAN CULTURAL CENTRE

The Indian Cultural Centre is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm. Apart from office hours, the Centre is open for scheduled events in the evening.
