Celebration of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas:

Embassy of India, Bangkok celebrated Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on 9 January, 2022 in Hybrid mode. Some prominent Indian diaspora members and the members of academia were present. Ambassador of India to Thailand H.E. Ms. Suchitra Durai inaugurated the event and honoured the prominent members of Indian diaspora and Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardees who have contributed towards promoting ties between India and Thailand. In her remarks H.E. Ambassador updated the Indian diaspora about the Government of India’s various people centric initiatives, welfare schemes and Covid-19 updates.

Mr. Sulabh Dhanuka, a young entrepreneur delivered speech about the contribution of NRIs to India. Cultural programme including dance and a skit named “Bharat darshan” by Thai students of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre and bhajan by members of Indian Association of Thailand were presented. A video clip of the speech delivered by Minister of State H.E. Mr. V. Muraleedharan during the Youth PBD conference held today on the topic “Role of Diaspora Youth in AKAM – Innovation and New technologies” was screened. A photo exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi was also organised.
