NEW HEIGHTS FOR INDIA-THAILAND RELATIONS


Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was conferred the Padma Bhushan Award by President Pranab Mukherjee at an Investiture Ceremony held in Rashtrapati Bhawan yesterday. The Award was given in the field of Literature & Education in recognition of the Royal Patronage that she has provided for the study of Sanskrit and Pali.
There are many aspects of the cultural heritage of both Thailand and India that connects the two countries. Language is one of them. The Royal Patronage provided by Her Royal Highness helps to preserve and promote the common cultural heritage of both countries.
The Government and the people of India are deeply honoured that Her Royal Highness has graciously received the Award.
