World Hindi Day held in Bangkok on 30 January, 2018

Celebration of World Hindi Day 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand

The celebration of the World Hindi Day 2018 in Thailand was organized by the Embassy of India, Bangkok in association with Faculty of Social Sciences, Srinakharinwirot University(SWU), Pridi Banomyong International College(PBIC) of Thammasat Univeristy, Indian Cultural Centre, Thai-Bharat Cultural Lodge and Thailand Hindi Parishad, NIST International School, Global Indian International School(GIIS) on 30th January 2018 from 5:30 to 8:30PM at the Grand Auditorium, 2nd Floor, Research and Continuing Education Building, Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok.

The event was presided over by Mr. Abbagani Ramu, Charge d’affairs, Embassy of India, Bangkok and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somchai Santiwatanakul, President of Srinakharinwirot University had graced the celebration as the distinguished Guest and delivered a speech emphasizing strengthening relations between Thailand and India as well as closer cooperation during the past year between Srinakharinwirot University and India, through the Embassy of India, Bangkok and Indian community.

The World Hindi Day(WHD) was organized for the promotion and promulgation of Hindi in Thailand. More than 300 distinguished guests including professors from reputed Thai universities, media persons, people from Indian and Thai communities who are interested in Hindi language had attended the event. It is noteworthy that even the Hindi learning Thai Students from Chiang Mai University had come to attend the WHD program. During the event, Thai and Indian students learning Hindi from the Universities and Institutions mentioned above presented cultural programs by recitation and reading of poems, plays, skits, conversations, singing in Hindi and dancing on Hindi songs. And the program was well appreciated by all invitees. The cultural programs were followed by reception.
