REGISTRATION OF INDIAN NATIONALS AS VOTERS

REGISTRATION OF INDIAN NATIONALS AS VOTERS.

Indian nationals who are not registered as voters and want to register themselves as voters in their electoral constituencies may follow these guidelines:

1. The overseas electors have to fill form 6A for registering themselves for voting in India. Form 6A is available on the website of the Election Commission in India (www.eci.nic.in)

2. Form 6 A may be sent by post to the concerned Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) of the concerned constituency in which they are to be registered as voters, or deposited with EROs in person.

3. The details and particulars of EROs are available on the website of the Election Commission of India (www.eci.nic.in).

4. One recent passport size coloured photograph, photograph of relevant pages of the passport of the applicant containing his/her photograph and all other particulars and photocopy of the pages of passport containing the valid visa.

5. If the application is sent by post it must be accompanied by copy of the passport and all relevant documents mentioned in Form 6A duly attested by an officer of the Indian Mission in the country concerned. The applicants can also register while in India at the ERO in their respective voting constituency

6. After enrolment, overseas electors will be able to cast their vote in elections in their constituency, if they are physically present in the polling station along with their original passport on the day of the poll.
