Embassy of India in association with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Kolkata is organizing “India-Thailand conclave with special focus onNorth Eastern States of India”on 17th June, 2013 at Hotel Grand Millennium Sukhumvit, 30 Sukhumvit 21 (Asoke) Road, Bangkok.

Focus sectors for this seminar are Agriculture & Food Processing, Tourism, Health care, Urban Infrastructure and Skills development.

Mr.NattawutSaikuar, Deputy Minister of Commerce of Thailandwill be the Guest of Honour for this Seminar.Mr. Paban Singh Ghatowar, Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India, Mr. PuHiato, Minister of Tourism & Industry, Government of Mizoram and Mr. ProdyutBordoloi, Minister of Industries and Commerce, Government of Assam are visiting Bangkok to participate in this seminar.  A delegation comprising of representatives from Government of India, North Eastern States of India and prominent entrepreneurs will also visit Bangkok to participate in this seminar and to explore the investment opportunities in Thailand to promote bilateral trade between India and Thailand, especially in the field of focus sectors. 

Senior representatives from Government of India and North Eastern State Governments will make special presentations about the investment opportunities available in North Eastern States of India in these focus sectors.  There will also be Business to Business interactions with the Thai investors to apprise them of the opportunities available for investment in North Eastern States of India in the above mentioned focus sectors.

This is an important event to promote business linkages and strengthen the trade relations between Thailand and India.  Bilateral trade between India and Thailand has crossed US $ 9 billion during 2012 and it is expected to cross US $ 10 billion mark in 2013.
